Remembrance Sunday 2017

On Sunday 12th November friends and family joined the Welbeck Students and Staff for their annual Remembrance Service around the fountains.  Despite being cold, it was a glorious morning, with full sunshine.

The service was led by The Reverend John Vincent CF, Deputy Assistant Chaplain General, HQ 7 Infantry Brigade and HQ East.  The Chaplain read out the names of the six fallen Welbexians and The Last Post was followed by two minutes silence.

Wreaths were laid by:

Colonel Robert Martin OBE DL

The Principal

Brigadier Martyn Gamble

Mr Mervyn Greenhalgh

Five wreaths were laid by the youngest Cadets from each of the Services at the College.

The College Band expertly accompanied the congregation for the hymns and brought the service to a close with the National Anthem.

Students were then given leave out to spend the day with their families and friends.
