November was a busy month for fundraising at Welbeck. It kicked off with The Poppy Appeal where this year, students created pieces of art and entered them in to a secret bid auction that took place on the morning of Remembrance Sunday. The art work was fantastic. It was a delight to show the range of ability of the students of Welbeck. As a College, we have raised a total of £1682 for the Poppy Appeal, through the auction and collections.
This was shortly followed by Children in Need. The students spent the day in mufty or fancy dress before taking part in House Socials in the evening where they played party games, ate a lot of hot dogs and the Principal, Vice-Principal, Adjutant and Senior House Prefects all sportingly went in the stocks and had wet sponges thrown at them. Much fun was had by all. This year we raised over £650.
What with ‘The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ for Macmillan back in September and the Santa Fun Run for Rainbows still to go, Welbeck has had an excellent start to the fundraising this year. Next term it’s over to the Houses.
